Kia Ireland and Clean Coasts announce fantastic sustainability partnership

October 25th 2023

Kia Ireland have announced that it will be collaborating with Clean Coasts on sustainability projects to support circular economy efforts during Circular Week. An Taisce is the driving force behind the Clean Coasts program, a network of enthusiastic volunteers dedicated to safeguarding Ireland's beaches, seas, and marine life. Clean Coasts seeks to encourage beneficial change in coastal and marine habitats through volunteer-led projects and educational campaigns. The announcement was made during Circular Week, which takes place from October 23 to October 27 and is an international celebration of sustainability and the circular economy.

Head of Marketing & PR at Kia Ireland, Cathal Kealey discussed the relationship by saying, "By 2030, 20% of all vehicle plastics will come from recycled materials for Kia. Ten sustainable components that come from plant-based resources or recycled plastic are already used in the construction of our EV9 which has just been launched in Ireland and these materials will also be utilized in all upcoming Kia models.

In keeping with our circular economy goals, we are happy to support Clean Coasts and help them find new uses for beach waste".
